Project 007:

Bread and Bandage, Kathmandu

Objectives

  • To identify the health needs of the kids living in the streets of kathmandu.
  • To provide enabling entertainment to the kids to express their physiological and psychological health needs.

Bread and Bandage will provide treatment on minor illnesses, cuts and injury and do investigation to find out major illnesses as per need and plan the treatment accordingly.   The team will consist of one doctor, Staff Nurse and driver. The works will be performed mainly in the morning and in evening time on the main area where the street kids are more prominent.

During whole intervention the street child will guide the whole team. Then after 5- 6 months if the street children come up with a proposal to go back home, get proper education, want job opportunities etc, then we can bridge them with other organizations and agencies, those who are related to working with street children, and we can also help with minimum support such as provide scholarship in school, provide travel fare to get them in their destination if they want to go back home etc.

This project will be defined in September 2007. This project is very new, hence the lack of example pictures. It has been proposed to us by Nepali people.
