Stone Masons, Kathmandu
When you drive around the ring road in Kathmandu, there are two camps of people living in tents. Not proper tents, just pieces of plastic in an A shape. This barely keeps off the sun let alone the monsoon rain and the winter cold. With the people are numerous children of all ages. The people earn a living by making products from stone as you can see pictured here. We need a Nepali group to advise us on the best long term strategy to help these people. At this stage we are just buying their products each week to help their cash flow, so they can decide to spend this on what ever they see as their priorities. |
