Future Projects:
Village Solar Water Pumping:
The 200 villagers here spend four hours per day carrying water up from the stream in the valley below. This project will supply solar powered water pumping to the top of the hill from where it will be gravity fed to strategic water collection points. The time saved will be used by the villagers to improve their living conditions in a sustainable way. We are looking at all options, including some Australian government funds which suit this type of overseas aid project. We are not active in this project at this time however if you want to support this project financially we will help you. |

Cooking With Gas, Kathmandu
This is a potential future project. Dependant on funding. Near to Swayambhunath on the western side of Kathmandu is a Buddhist monastery high on a hill. There are over 100 monks here including about a dozen young boys. The main meal of the day is lunch, and it consists of rice and lentils and perhaps a few vegetables. The cook works in a smoke filled kitchen for hours to feed these monks. This project will supply gas burners on which to cook the food, and then ongoing monthly gas. This will help the environment and the health of the kitchen staff. It will cost around $1000 a year for this project. |
